Check if a company is registered on the Peppol network using their GLN (Global Location Number) via the 0088 identifier scheme. Free and instant.
Enter a 13-digit GLN to check Peppol registration via the 0088 scheme.
Belgian companies are typically registered on Peppol using the 0208 scheme (enterprise number / KBO number). The 0088 scheme (GLN) is mainly used by companies in retail, logistics, and those that are GS1 members.
If you are looking for a Belgian company, try searching with their enterprise number on our Peppol Check tool first. The 0088 (GLN) scheme is the right choice if the company specifically uses their GLN as Peppol identifier.
A Global Location Number (GLN) is a 13-digit identifier from the GS1 system. It uniquely identifies legal entities, trading partners, and physical locations worldwide. GLNs are widely used in supply chains for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and are now also used as Peppol participant identifiers under the 0088 scheme.
Your GLN is assigned by your local GS1 member organization. For Belgium, contact GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg. For the Netherlands, contact GS1 Netherlands. You can also look up GLNs in the GS1 Global Registry (GEPIR) at gepir.gs1.org. Your GLN may appear on existing GS1 membership documents, EAN/barcode registrations, or EDI configurations.

A Global Location Number (GLN) is a 13-digit identifier from the GS1 system. It uniquely identifies legal entities, functional entities (like departments), and physical locations (like warehouses or stores) worldwide. Originally designed for supply chain and logistics, GLNs are now also used as electronic addressing identifiers on the Peppol network.
GLNs are assigned by local GS1 member organizations. In Belgium, this is GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg. In the Netherlands, GS1 Netherlands. Each GLN is globally unique, making it an ideal candidate for identifying business partners in cross-border e-invoicing.
On Peppol, the GLN is registered under the 0088 identifier scheme. When a company uses their GLN as their Peppol participant ID, other businesses can send e-invoices and documents to the address 0088:<GLN>.
The Peppol identifier scheme for GLN numbers. Format: 0088:1234567890123.
GLN is most common for companies already using GS1 standards in retail, logistics, and supply chain.
GLN is part of the GS1 identification system, used by over 2 million companies in 150+ countries.
A GLN is always exactly 13 digits. The last digit is a check digit calculated using the GS1 modulo 10 algorithm.
Different countries use different identifier schemes on Peppol. The GLN (0088) is internationally recognized, but most countries also have a national scheme. Here are the most common ones:
| Scheme | Identifier | Country |
|---|---|---|
| 0088 | GLN (Global Location Number) | International |
| 0208 | Enterprise number (KBO/BCE) | Belgium |
| 0106 | KvK number | Netherlands |
| 0007 | SIRENE / SIRET | France |
| 0151 | ABN (Australian Business Number) | Australia |
| 0184 | DUNS number | International |
| 9925 | Partita IVA | Italy |
A company can be registered under multiple schemes. For example, a Belgian retailer might use 0208 (enterprise number) for domestic invoicing and 0088 (GLN) for international supply chain documents.
The 13th digit of every GLN is a check digit that helps detect input errors. It is calculated using the GS1 modulo 10 algorithm:
Starting from the left, multiply each of the first 12 digits alternately by 1 and 3 (position 1 = x1, position 2 = x3, position 3 = x1, and so on).
Add all 12 products together.
The check digit = (10 - (sum mod 10)) mod 10. If the sum ends in 0, the check digit is 0.
Example:
GLN: 5412345678901
Digits: 5 4 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 ?
Weights: 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3 1 3
Products: 5+12+1+6+3+12+5+18+7+24+9+0 = 102
Check digit: (10 - (102 mod 10)) mod 10 = (10 - 2) mod 10 = 8
But the last digit is 1, so this example GLN is invalid.

A GLN is a 13-digit number issued by GS1 that uniquely identifies a legal entity, functional entity, or physical location. It is widely used in retail, logistics, and supply chain industries. On the Peppol network, GLNs are registered under the 0088 identifier scheme.
On Peppol, a GLN serves as a participant identifier under the 0088 scheme. When a company registers with the 0088 scheme, their Peppol ID becomes 0088:<GLN>. Other participants can then send e-invoices and other business documents to that address.
In Belgium, most companies register on Peppol using the 0208 scheme, which uses the 10-digit enterprise number (KBO/BCE). The 0088 scheme uses a GLN and is more common for companies in retail, logistics, and those already using GS1 standards. A company may be registered under both schemes.
Your GLN is assigned by your local GS1 organization. In Belgium, contact GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg. In the Netherlands, contact GS1 Netherlands. You can also check your GS1 membership documents or the GS1 Global Registry (GEPIR) at gepir.gs1.org.
Yes. A company can have multiple Peppol registrations under different identifier schemes. For example, a Belgian retailer might be registered under 0208 (enterprise number) and 0088 (GLN). Documents can be sent to either address.
The 13th digit of a GLN is a check digit calculated using the GS1 modulo 10 algorithm. The first 12 digits are multiplied alternately by 1 and 3 (starting from the left), the products are summed, and the check digit is (10 - (sum mod 10)) mod 10.
The 0088 scheme is used internationally across all Peppol-connected countries. It is particularly popular in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark), the Netherlands, and among multinational companies in retail and logistics. Any GS1 member worldwide can use their GLN on Peppol.
If your GLN is not found, the company may not be registered on Peppol under the 0088 scheme. Try searching with the enterprise number (0208 for Belgium) instead using our Peppol Check tool. To register your GLN on Peppol, sign up with a certified Peppol Access Point like e-invoice.be.
