Founding Engineer
We're looking for a hyper-ambitious builder with sharp product instincts who wants to shape how thousands of European businesses send invoices. From day one you take full ownership of the core product area: the AI agents that turn messy PDFs into compliant Peppol UBL, the API developers actually enjoy, and the Access Point that moves documents at scale.
This is a role with a trajectory. We want you to grow into our VP of Engineering. It comes with equity, and it’s built for someone who thinks and operates like a founder, not just an employee. The founding experience without the initial ugly bootstrapping phase. The hard part of getting off the ground is done. You get to build on top of it and own where engineering goes from here.
It’s the coolest job in engineering right now, and you’d be on the frontier of it.
What you'll do
- Ship across the full stack (Next.js, TypeScript, Python) from the marketing site down to AS4 message exchange
- Own the developer experience end to end: REST API, SDKs, CLI, and MCP server
- Build the AI document pipeline: OCR, extraction, PDF to Peppol UBL, using multi-model agents and cascading validators that catch what a single model misses
- Shape the AI software engineer: design the agentic coding systems that build our product alongside us
- Architect reliable Peppol exchange: AS4/ebMS3, SMP/SML, BIS Billing 3.0, EN 16931
- Keep the agents honest: validation, non-repudiation evidence, observability for financial documents that have to be correct, not just plausible
- Build relationships with customers and domain experts who sharpen your thinking. Ship code the same day.
What we look for
- Strong full-stack skills (TypeScript/React/Node or Python). You ship, you don’t just code.
- Experience building production APIs, developer tools, or data pipelines
- Think and operate like a co-founder: take initiative, unblock yourself, and own outcomes regardless of what’s in your job spec.
- Comfort with ambiguity. We figure it out as we go, bias to action over planning.
- Curiosity about AI agents, document processing, fintech, or compliance, and the taste to know when an LLM is the wrong tool for the job
- Clear writing. We write a lot and ship in the open.
- Bonus: Peppol, UBL/XML, OCR, e-invoicing standards, or a terminal-native workflow
